Meet Our Team

Jim has been a hairdresser for over 30 years and loves engaging with people. Jim has a knack with short hair, highlights, and men’s cuts of all ages with years of experience to back him up. In his free time he enjoys traveling, hanging out with his son, Alastair and watching him play hockey.

Mark moved to Murfreesboro in the spring of 1985 to pursue his career in hairdressing. He continues to strive to provide a great work environment and the best of services.

Emily grew up in the salon industry with her family. She started working as front desk at Tangerine in 2008 while obtaining her degree in business administration at MTSU. She moved to Destin, FL for a couple years, but returned back to Murfreesboro and Tangerine in 2017 and been here ever since! One of her favorite things about coming to work is the relationships she has with the guests (some have been coming since we first opened!) and co-workers who become like family! In her free time, she loves hanging out with her husband and sons, Charlie and Jack.

Kari has been caring for our guests since January of 2011. She is a graduate of MTSU, where she earned her degree in Psychology. She enjoys helping people and solving problems. She loves hiking and adventuring, but most of all spending time with her husband and three children, Oliver, Rose, and Violet!

Amie came to Tangerine in June 2007 shortly after marrying the love of her life and best friend. Motivated by her faith and two children, she enjoys the opportunity to truly touch the lives of everyone she meets. She loves giving her guests the best possible experience and strives to be a “daymaker” to everyone who sits in her chair.

Ashlynn joined Tangerine in September of 2018. She is a graduate of Paul Mitchell in Murfreesboro and she specializes in grey coverage, lived-in blonde looks, and long hair cuts. As our Education Coordinator, she enjoys encouraging and preparing all of our new stylists for their future careers. One of her favorite parts of her job is helping uplift and inspire her guests with her love of Jesus and people. Ashlynn grew up in Wartrace, TN where she loves spending time on the family farm with her husband and fur babies.

Kelly was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She moved to Minneapolis in 2003 to attend the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology. She has been with Tangerine since May 2005. She is hard working and genuinely passionate about making each client look and feel good about themselves. Skilled in all aspects of hair, from cuts and color to styling and treatments, Kelly brings expertise and creativity to every service. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and traveling.

Connie graduated from Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy in Dallas, TX and honed her cut and color techniques at the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology. Connie has been at Tangerine since 2016. She is a certified Brazillian Blowout specialist. She specializes in color, highlights, balayage, grey coverage and long hair cuts. She loves to help people feel better and her passion to serve is exemplified in the attention to detail she gives to all of her clients. Connie is blessed with a loving husband and two beautiful daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and worshiping at World Outreach Church.

Melissa started at Tangerine in 2017, and has been a hairstylist since 2012. She has always had a love for the hair and beauty industry. She is the mother of a beautiful girl and enjoys going to concerts, trips to the beach and spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, and swimming. Melissa enjoys being creative behind the chair and spending time with her guests and laughing while making them look and feel beautiful. Melissa specializes in blonding, balayage, layered razor cutting, and short cuts.

Molly graduated from the Aveda Institute and has been at Tangerine since 2019. She specializes in fashion colors, short cuts, lived in colors and balayage. Molly loves meeting new people and making them feel relaxed and confident! Outside of the salon, she enjoys concerts, reading, and arts and crafts.

Liz joined Tangerine in November 2019. With a passion for creating customized hair, she specializes in tape-in extensions, long layered cuts, grey coverage, as well as blonding services including foiling and balayage or lived in color. Liz strives to create a fun service experience while also gifting her clients with the hair they desire! Outside of the salon, she is engaged to her best friend and has two adorable dogs. You’ll find her indulging in some shopping and expoloring content creation, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Johna graduated from the Paul Mitchell school in 2022, and has been at Tangerine since 2023. Her specialties are grey coverage, color, and balayage. She loves making people feel good about themselves and having meaningful conversations with them. In her free time, Johna enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs and going to concerts, cookouts, and shopping.

Kansas is a recent graduate Genesis Career College earning her degree in cosmetology. After working in the industry as an Aesthetician, she decided to go back to school to persue her love of hair. She enjoys doing color, lived in looks, and brow services. Kansas loves connecting with people one on one and sharing beautiful life moments, while making guests feel their best! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and golden retriever and 2 cats, as well as reading, baking, and summer wake surfing!

Cailee began working at Tangerine in 2024 after graduating from Paul Mitchell in Cosmetology. She loves to do styling, highlights and anything color on hair and believes being welcoming and having good communication is key. Cailee prioritizes continued education, family, friends, and God. Her favorite things to do outside of work are to hike and watch movies.

Nancy Smith, LMT, MLD-C, completed her massage therapy training in San Antonio, Texas in 2007. She has loved living in Tennessee for over 13 years. She has a passion for learning and continued her education earning her certification in manual lymphatic drainage. Her work is therapeutically driven and she is committed to the health and well-being of her clients.

Charity joined Tangerine in January of 2023, after earning her Cosmotology degree from TCAT. She excels in gel extensions and nail art as well as hot stone and reflexology. She enjoys seeing guests have a moment of peace during their services, and loves to help her guests have an enjoyable experience as well as healthy nails. Outside of the spa she enjoys being outdoors in nature and doing arts, crafts, and painting.

Julia has been at Tangerine since May of 2022 and finds fulfillment in being a team player and building relationships. She loves when guests leave with a big smile on their face, feeling confident. Julia is currently enrolled at MTSU majoring in Journalism Sports Media. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, and also playing outdoor games such as Corn Hole or Pickleball.

Samantha started working at Tangerine in May 2023 to pursue her career in the beauty industry. She graduated from TCAT in aesthetics and is thrilled to continue helping others feel beautiful and confident in their skin!
